Broccoli 'Piracicaba'

from A$5.25

Brassica oleracea

‘Piracicaba’ is an abundant producer of sweet flavoured, succulent side shoots - a bunching broccoli. Uniquely heat tolerant, enjoy the sweetest stalks with a slight, large-beaded head (between a broccoli raab and a broccolini).

  • Excellent Flavour

  • High Yielding

  • Heat Tolerant

  • Open Pollinated

Wonderful for the home garden with its “cut and come again” production, ‘Piracicaba’ is also a market worthy variety that keeps customers returning to your stall. Check out Carolina Lees’ article in Growing for Market magazine…

…those [customers] who do[try it] almost always come back for more and often say it’s the best broccoli they’ve ever had.

‘Piracicaba’ won our open pollinated broccoli trial because of its succulent, juicy, sweet side shoots - great raw and steamed - seemingly endless production and heat tolerance. A truly unique variety, it was developed at Brazil’s oldest agricultural university and named after the Brazilian city and river. Slightly frost tolerant. Open pollinated.
