Can you notify me when a seed variety becomes available?
Sorry but at this stage we do not have a facility within our website to handle that. The best we can do is highlight new varieties as and when they become available via our farm Newsletter. You can join our farm Newsletter at the bottom of this page.

What does the COMING SOON label on a seed variety mean?
”Coming soon” on a seed variety indicates we have grown the seed crop and are somewhere in the process of harvesting, drying, cleaning, germination testing and packaging the seed for that particular crop.

Can we come to the farm and purchase seed?
We do not currently have a farm store. We have put a limited range of our seed into a few retail shops.

Please use this link to see our Retail Stockists. If you are interested in carrying our seed, please email us.

Can we come and visit the farm?
While we would so love to say yes to the many requests to visit the farm, our farm is currently closed to the public. We are full time farmers with a never ending farm list - hosting visitors just doesn't work at this time. We share information about and photos of what we are growing via our newsletter and social media. And if we host workshops or farm tours, we will send invitations through our newsletter which you can join below.

Will you be offering more selection?
Yes, we hope so! We have a large list of cultivars we would like to offer. Additionally, we are communicating with breeders about new cultivars we would like to trial. We do not want to count our chickens before they hatch but we will be sharing our seed crops throughout the season. And please share with us cultivars you would like. We are also in the stage of our seed work where we are building our stock seed - so we may chose to work on a variety for a few season before moving on. Some cultivars require a large isolation zone to ensure purity.
We are very careful about our isolation zones and this does limit the varieties we offer. If you are looking for something, please tell us about it - we love to know!

Will you be offering bigger pack sizes?
Yes, we do offer larger pack sizes of some of our seed. You can find a list of those varieties here MARKET GROWERS PACK. With each generation, we are continuing to build the genetics in our stock seed. This not only improves the overall seed crop but it also - hopefully - provides a larger seed harvest as we have more plants kept for seed harvest. In addition, our skills at processing and cleaning the seed continues to improve. This will also allow us to offer larger seed pack sizes.

Do you offer larger flower pack sizes?
We do not offer bulk packs of flower seeds at this time.

PLEASE NOTE - without expressed written permission from Transition Farm, we do not permit on selling of our seed.

Can we return unwanted seeds?
We are unable to accept unused or unwanted seeds for a return as we cannot verify the conditions the seeds have experienced which may have effected their germination.. Please read our post on SEED STORAGE

Can we pick up our seed order from the farm?
The simple answer, after trying many different ways of facilitating this which caused a number of problems, is no. We do not have an on-farm shop and we grow all the seed we sell. We are very busy farming and running a seed company. We tried offering locals a pick up option when we first began selling seeds but discovered that the efficiency of our systems and the accountability of the Australian Post were both compromised.

We have put a limited range of our seed into a few retail shops. Please use this link to see our Retail Stockists.

Will you be selling seedlings?
While we grow all of our seedlings here, we need a larger polytunnel to grow more seedlings for sale. We will consider seedlings for the future - but not this Spring.

Can we sign up to your CSA and receive weekly veggie boxes?
We no longer run a CSA nor offer weekly veggie boxes.
We operated a thriving CSA offering local families a weekly veggie box for 10 years.
In 2020, we shifted our focus to growing certified organic and biodynamic seed and allocated all of our field space and time to this endeavour.
